Our Story

A simple question about long commutes grew into a larger vision for people, communities, and the planet.

Why travel 50 miles to do work someone else travels 60 miles to do near your home?

Flipped Our Script began with the belief that some of the strain people accept every day may not be necessary.

Traffic jams, road rage, fuel costs, pollution, and hours taken away from family have become normal. But normal does not always mean sensible. When qualified people perform similar work in opposite directions, there may be an opportunity to organize work differently.

This project invites workers, employers, communities, and public leaders to look beyond petty likes and dislikes and focus on the larger opportunity: preserving livelihoods while reducing avoidable travel.

One planet. One life to live. Let’s come together and flip our script for the up-and-comers.

Cleaner air, stronger communities, safer roads, and more time for life are worth exploring. We may not solve every commute, but every sensible transition can be a meaningful step forward.
